Zimbabwe visitor visa rules

Zimbabwe places nationalities in three groups. Category A enters without a visa. Category B obtains a visa on arrival or can apply online. Category C must receive an eVisa before travel 1,2. The Department of Immigration lists an ordinary single-entry visa at US$30 online or at the border. British and Chinese passport fees differ 2. Find your category

The official immigration site divides passports into A, B and C. Category A is visa exempt. Category B can pay for a visa at a port of entry or apply online. Category C must obtain the visa before travel 1,3.

Use the current government category list for the passport you will present. Nationality lists can change and are longer than a safe static summary 1,3.

Official fees

The department's current fee page gives US$30 for an ordinary single-entry visa online or at the port of entry. It lists US$55 for a British single-entry visa and US$60 for a Chinese single-entry visa 2.

Other published fees include US$55 for multiple entry and US$100 for an emergency online visa. The category and passport-specific fee displayed by the official system controls the payment 2.

Validity

The eVisa FAQ gives one month for a single-entry visa, three months for double entry and six months for multiple entry. Validity and the stay granted at entry are not the same thing 3.

How to apply

  • Check the nationality category on the Department of Immigration site 1.
  • If Category C, apply and receive approval before departure 1,3.
  • If Category B, choose the official online route or the available port-of-entry route 1,3.
  • Use evisa.gov.zw and pay only the amount shown for your passport and visa type 2,3.

KAZA travel

Zimbabwe's system offers the KAZA UNIVISA for qualifying travel linked with Zambia. Check availability, entry point and current conditions on the official application page before relying on it 3.

Can I get a Zimbabwe visa on arrival?
