Find your nationality category

The Department of Immigration publishes three lists. One covers visa-free nationalities, one covers passports eligible for a visa on arrival or at a mission, and one covers passports requiring approval before travel 1,23.

Prior-approval applicants must apply online and receive the approval letter before travel. Arrival-eligible travellers can instead use the official eVisa route 1,23.

Official fee conflict

The visitor page states US$25 single entry, US$40 double entry and US$75 multiple entry. The department's notice dated 15 August 2024 gives the same figures and cites Statutory Instrument No. 25 of 2024 1,4.

A separate live department fee table lists a US$50 statutory single-entry fee, US$80 double and multiple fees, plus card administration charges. These two current official pages conflict as checked on 19 October 2026 5. Confirm the amount shown inside the government eServices payment screen before payment.

Passport and arrival documents

For visa on arrival, the passport must have at least 6 months from entry and at least 3 full blank pages. Air arrivals need a valid return ticket. Land and water arrivals need enough funds for the stay and departure 1.

Visitors must give host details and the physical address where they will stay 1.

KAZA UNIVISA

The US$50 KAZA UNIVISA permits qualifying tourists to visit Zambia and Zimbabwe multiple times for up to 30 days, with Botswana day trips through Kazungula covered. It is issued only at listed ports or online under the stated conditions 1,4.
